The former model confided in Tiffany Pollard, telling her: “David’s dead”.

Tiffany ran from Angie, without waiting for further explanation, into the garden to announce Gest’s death to her confused colleagues.

“If I did say that and feel that way, I don’t think the whole house should be knowing about that, Yeah I did say it and he is cute, Now I feel like that’s all out there”.

However the news was too much for the Flavour of Love star who, like the rest of the contestants, is locked away from the world and all outside communications.

An unfortunate misunderstanding resulted in emotional scenes and conflict on Celebrity Big Brother on Tuesday night.

Pollard had thought she was talking about fellow housemate David Gest and she went on to tell other contestants that Gest had died.

“You didn’t have to give me you shoes”, Tiffany went on, “I didn’t even notice you took them back because I don’t give a f**k”.

“Some viewers also alleged racial offence at John Partridge’s reference to her wanting to return to the house.

The house is not fun any more”, he said in the diary room.

Some accused the show of exploiting the late singer’s death, but Rylan Clark, host of Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, defended Channel 5’s decision to broadcast the commotion. Her popularity on that program created several spin-off television shows, often times bearing her nickname, New York. The two hugged it out and Tiffany said to Angie she was “sorry for her loss”.

See the fall out on Channel 5 during the Celebrity Big Brother highlights show at 9pm.

Tiffany became hysterical when she believed an unwell David Gest had passed but then began laughing when she realised her mistake.

As Pollard remained furious at having supposedly been misled, her fellow housemates turned against her and rallied around Bowie. The couple was married from 1970 to 1980 and had one child together.
