New Trailer for The Witch Will Give You Paranoia
With the overlooked Western Slow West and the NY drama A Most Violent Year under their belt, A24 has churned out first rate cinematic fare, and hopefully The Witch continues their hot streak (A24’s sunshine noir Cut Bank, starring Billy Bob Thornton and John Malkovich, is also worth a look).

Ahead of its U.S. release next month, a new trailer has arrived online for writer-director Robert Eggers” upcoming horror The Witch entitled “Paranoia’.
A24 Films is certainly one of the most exciting new studios around, and they now have their hands full juggling Oscar campaigns for some of their swell 2015 offerings like Room, Amy, and Ex Machina. This new trailer teases all of those aspects of the film, as well as the breakout character “Black Phillip”, the creepiest goat you’ll ever meet. Check out the new trailer below.
Written and directed by Eggers, The Witch has caught the eye of horror fans for its intimate approach to the genre, allowing tension and fear to bubble beneath the surface without the need for lavish CG effects, emotions amplified by the mass hysteria that brewed in the God-fearing New England society of the time. The film centers on Puritanical Christians William (Ralph Ineson) and Katherine (Kate Dickie) and their five children. Amidst the backdrop of their haunting new home, the family’s crops fail, animals turn evil and a child disappears. Head on down below as we have scored the brand new trailer. “As circumstances grow more treacherous, each family member’s faith, loyalty and love become tested in shocking and unforgettable ways”.
