Later, in a high-level meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and attended by General Raheel Sharif, reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to cooperate with India on Pathankot incident.
Sharif told Kerry that Pakistan is swiftly carrying out investigations. “We look to see actions to back up those words”, the official added.
The editorial also urged India to be more forthcoming with information, claiming Pakistan had reportedly demanded further evidence, including the attackers’ DNA samples.
India has called on Islamabad to take “prompt and decisive” action against militants it blames for the assault, which only ended after a four-day operation to secure the base.
BJP Leader Nalin Kohli also commented on the issue and said, “United States and a number of countries are now increasingly getting anxious about the situation related to terrorism”.
There were also reports that five terrorists had sneaked into the border area of Gurdaspur and Pathankot, following which army formations have been put on alert, officials said.
It came about a week after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a surprise visit to Pakistan, the first by an Indian premier in 11 years.
Sharif also assured that Pakistan won’t allow its soil to be used for terrorism.
The Pak Advisor in a written reply during the Question Hour, said that Foreign Secretaries would discuss the modalities of comprehensive bilateral dialogues and its timeframe during the meeting in Islamabad this month.
The evidence furnished by India includes intercepts of phone calls made by the six terrorists.
India has urged Pakistan to take immediate action against those who conceived and executed the attack.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has on Friday said that any statement about Pathankot attack before complete investigations would be premature.
Accepting that the Pathankot attack was a “litmus test” for the leadership of both the countries, Kasuri said that it was crucial to the spirit of the joint statement on the irreversibility of peace process signed in New Delhi in 2005.

A senior state department official said Pakistan should not come out with lame excuses to shield them as has been the case with the Mumbai terrorist attack.
