Four massive performers added to BRIT Awards line-up

Pop star Justin Bieber, hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar and rapper The Weeknd are among those nominated for global male solo artist while American pop singers Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor and Australian Courtney Barnett are included in the running for the female version of the award.

All of the above-mentioned artists have also either won or been named as finalists in the critics’ choice category previously.

Adele continues her incredibly successful musical comeback by also receiving four nominations – for British Female Solo Artist, British Single, MasterCard British Album of the Year and British Artist Video of the Year.

DJ Calvin Harris and Hold My Hand singer Glynne have three nominations in total.

US band The Eagles Of Death Metal, whose concert was targeted in the Paris attacks, is up against U2 in the worldwide group category.

Brit Awards bosses have announced who will be joining Adele, Justin Bieber and Coldplay as performers at this year’s ceremony.

The show will feature a special tribute to David Bowie, who died of cancer just days after celebrating his 69th birthday.

Ant & Dec return to present the ceremony, which will be broadcast live on ITV, and the nominations are being announced tonight (14.01.16) at “The BRITs Are Coming” – which will be broadcast on ITV at 10.40pm. They will host the official BRITs Red Carpet and BRITs After Party shows for ITV2 on the night, giving viewers all the latest behind the scenes gossip and exclusive interviews. And Polydor’s Years & Years, whose Communion album has been another of the biggest breakthroughs of the last 12 months are up for British Group – where they’ll face heavyweight opposition from Blur, Coldplay, Foals and One Direction – British Breakthrough, Single and Video (both for King).
