Country singer Keith Urban on Monday visited the Sirius XM’s Music City Theater in Nashville to announce his new 2016 Ripcord Tour.
Accompanying Urban on the tour will be Brett Eldredge and country newcomer Maren Morris, who was invited after impressing Urban with her singing ability.
You can find more ticket information on Hershey Entertainment’s website here. “Where’s she from? Who wrote the songs?’ And they said, ‘She did.’ And I said, ‘Jesus!’ Her full record might not be out by [the tour’s opening night], but I don’t care”, Urban says.
He added to The Tennessean newspaper: “I want to bring in some other elements to the show musically that are different than what we’ve done before, [think about] how to incorporate some of the old material in a new way, potentially reaching into some album tracks from way back”.
“I was a Keith Urban fan long before I ever got this music thing going”, said Eldredge.
Urban will have a busy 2016 with the new album, the tour and the final season of “American Idol”, where he serves as a judge. “There is nothing that has quite that feel on television where you can sit down and watch it with your whole family”.
