The Kentucky senator has failed to catch fire like some of his other fellow GOP presidential candidates, but Fox Business Network’s decision to boot him for the first time off the main stage at Thursday night’s debate in SC was a potential knockout punch for his flailing candidacy.
The field is starting to narrow down with U.S. Sen. On national security, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush suggested the country was less safe under Obama and declared Hillary Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, would be a “national security disaster”.
The 3 p.m. PST debate lineup features Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum.
Paul said it would behoove the Republican National Committee to ensure all voices, specifically of a liberty-focused candidate, are included during the debate if they want to continue to grow the party.
Fox Business, however, issued a statement Wednesday morning refusing to give any candidate a second look.
A spokeswoman for Fox indicated the network will not be reconsidering its decision. An “undercard” debate will begin at 5pm CDT. “You’re taking away the ability of early primary states to decide who the victors are by trying to pre-decide the election by pre-deciding the debate stage”.
