Dolphins close to deal with Adam Gase on head coaching job
Adam Gase was part of the Denver Broncos’ coaching family for six seasons.

This appears to be a solid move for Adam Gase, especially as the Dolphins are handing him a significant – and perhaps surprising – amount of power.
In addition to interviewing with the Dolphins, Gase also interviewed with the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants this week.
The Miami Dolphins have reportedly set up a second interview with Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase, and the two sides are reportedly close to finalizing the deal.
Bears coach John Fox and quarterback Jay Cutler recently expressed confidence in the club’s ability to replace Gase without stumbling on the field. Miami is a far more attractive market for a young, inexperienced coach like Gase and, as a “quarterback guru”, Ryan Tannehill makes the position seem a lot more enticing.
Like Cutler Tannehill was recently signed to a huge contract extension. Gase was the Denver wide receivers coach from 2009-2010, the quarterbacks coach from 2011-2012, and the Broncos offensive coordinator from 2013-2014. The team talked to seven candidates over six days – including former National Football League head coaches Mike Shanahan, Mike Smith and Doug Marrone – before hiring Gase, who team officials said was very impressive during his interview Thursday.
Fox Sports reported Dallas Cowboys secondary coach Jerome Henderson will join the Dolphins in the same role under soon-to-be new defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, the defensive backs coach for the Cincinnati Bengals. And I’m going to be working directly with him. Manning said Gase is bright, eager and a hard worker.

The person provided the update on negotiations to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no agreement has been reached with the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator. The franchise fired head coach Joe Philbin after a rough start. His work with quarterbacks is well documented and I know first-hand how good he is. “He is ready for this for sure”. I took him away from scouting and put him on the coaching staff as a quality control coach to get his feet wet and work hard and do whatever we asked him to do. He also worked as a recruiting assistant (2001-02) and graduate assistant (2000) at LSU under Head Coach Nick Saban.
