To the surprise of many, many people, filmmaker J.J. Abrams has quietly put together a sequel to the 2008 monster movie Cloverfield, titled 10 Cloverfield Lane. Here’s hoping that those creepy little parasites from the first film are back because that scene in the underground train station was superb.
The story’s girl is Mary Elizabeth Winstead, with John Goodman the Caretaker, and John Gallagher Jr. also present in the basement. Yep, not long to wait! A trailer dropped with Michael Bay’s new action thriller 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi as it debuted in the States, and the release date for the movie is stunningly only two months away. Did JJ Abrams and Bad Robot somehow secretly produce a sequel to Matt Reeves’ found footage sci-fi film Cloverfield?
The film sounds like there will lots of twists, turns and surprises – something definitely in the same vein as ‘Cloverfield, ‘ but see for yourself in the bootleg trailer below then let us know what you think! Update: and the trailer is now officially online, courtesy of studio Paramount. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield.
‘The idea was developed over time.
Surprisingly, news about the project has been kept really close to the vest as not much was known or reported about this low budget film.

More likely it’s a movie once called Valencia, the Bad Robot movie that’s always been on Paramount’s release schedule for March.
