Slaven Bilic ready to take on ‘massive club’ Newcastle – without Andy Carroll
“I thought their results would fall away after their good start, much like they did under Sam Allardyce last season, but they have picked up after a wobble where they did not win for eight games from the end of October”.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic sees no reason to delve into the transfer market despite confirmation Andy Carroll will be out for at least a month through injury.
The east London club are a point and a place below Spurs and the return of stars such as Victor Moses and Cheikhou Kouyate have arrived at the right time to join the fight for the coveted fourth place.
While Bilic is probably quite happy for his side to be left alone while they quietly go about mounting a surprise bid for a Champions League spot, some supporters – and co-owner David Gold in particular are not.
Asked about the Magpies, Bilic said: “Definitely, they (Newcastle) had a slow start but now they are doing okay”.
“They are a massive club, they are a well run club and they are moving to the new stadium next season which is what 56-60,000 (fans) and the extra revenue that brings”.
‘If everything goes well, he will be back very soon so there is no reason to be negative.
“They had a good comeback against Man United so they are on a high”.
He said: ‘We are not panicking, we are well covered quantity wise in all the positions in the team and only if something really good comes – permanent or temporary – then we’re going to act.
Concerned teammates surround Andy Carroll as he is treated for his latest injury. It’s a hamstring injury, it’s one of those injuries that it is hard to tell how long he’ll be out.
“In England, there are no easy games, so that’s why we have to focus because Newcastle know our team”.

“Of course we will be cautious, and it is a blow for us because he was looking really sharp”.
