Jeep has offered the range-topping Overland model on the Grand Cherokee since 2011.
The Overland stands apart from lesser Cherokee models thanks to a body-colored front fascia, body colored door cladding and wheel flares, 18-inch wheels and HID headlights. The starting price for the Overland model is $34,495 and it will land at Dealerships this spring.
The vehicle comes standard with a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, but that can be upgraded to a 3.2-liter, six-cylinder engine with 271 horsepower and stop-start capability.
Set atop the current Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk lineup, the new Cherokee Overland 4×4 builds on the already well-appointed Limited 4×4 trim grade. The latest Active Drive II 4×4 system, which allows the driver to disconnect the rear differential and use only front-wheel drive to help improve fuel efficiency also comes as standard.
Selec-Terrain is created to optimize the four-wheel-drive systems for unsurpassed control and capability.

Options include the heavy duty protection group (skid plates and full-size spare tire) and the technology group that includes advanced brake assist, auto high beam headlamp control, lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, parallel and perpendicular park assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, ParkSense front and rear park assist with rear stop, rain sensitive windshield wipers, wireless charging pad, remote CD player, engine block heater and sunroof. In addition to being ready to tackle pavement and the occasional dirt road, the Overland also adds plenty of luxury to the already-well-equipped Cherokee.
