Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones: I’ll apologize if Brown doesn’t play against Denver

The Pittsburgh Steelers only just squeezed past the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday night, and now they’ll face the Denver Broncos this weekend with a compromised quarterback – if he plays at all. Roethlisberger went back in and drove the Steelers to midfield, where the Bengals had the Steelers stopped before the penalties on Burfict and Jones. If Ben is a go at practice on Thursday he should be able to play this Sunday. Martavis Bryant, who made a ridiculous TD catch at Cincinnati, would be the de facto No. 1 option in the case that Brown can’t go.

It started with Jeremy Hill’s fumble, which was followed by a helmet-to-helmet hit by Vontaze Burfict on Steelers receiver Antonio Brown, who was knocked out cold in mid-air before being diagnosed with a concussion.

According to Jim Colony of 93.7 The Fan (h/t Colin Dunlap), Steelers guard David DeCastro also said Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict spit on him in the midst of Pittsburgh’s 18-16 victory. In 2010, Philadelphia Eagles center Mike McGlynn said Redskins safety LaRon Landry spit on him twice during a November game.

Williams has filled in superbly for star running back Le’Veon Bell after the latter was lost for the season to a torn MCL suffered in Pittsburgh’s Week 8 loss to the Bengals.

“Everyone is day to day”, he said. “If I see him, I will walk the other way”.

Caldwell is on hold • New Lions general manager Bob Quinn said he has not decided if he will retain coach Jim Caldwell. “I honestly don’t know”. We got respect for those guys.

Caldwell has two years left on his four-year contract and is 18-15 over two years.

The NFL decided his penalties over the course of a season merited the suspension, which can be appealed.

Jones on Saturday told NFL Network’s Michael Silver of Brown, “Man, that (expletive) was (expletive) acting”.
