Trump sticks to his guns on barring Muslims

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump was clear Thursday night on whether anything has caused him to rethink his controversial proposal to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the U.S.to protect the country against possible terrorism.

The real estate mogul’s proposal in the wake of Paris and St. Bernardino terrorist attacks by a Pakistani origin couple has created a firestorm with more than 10 million people talking about the issue, according to Facebook. The ad also played footage of a Bush supporter who said Trump’s criticism of the disabled reporter had inspired him to get behind the former governor. I want to ask the rest of you to comment on this.

“But [Haley] did say there was anger. How are we going to win the presidency if we’re tearing our country apart?” said Bush reacting to the advertisement, while on a campaign stop in Grinnell, Iowa, reports CNN. We’re friends. That’s good.

“I’ve got to get this off my chest – Donald Trump is a jerk”, Bush says in a new, and particularly effective TV ad reminding New Hampshire voters how Trump had mocked the disability of a reporter. “You’re not going to allow them to come to our country?”

Moderator Maria Bartiromo asked Cruz what exactly he meant by “New York values”, and Cruz said, “I think most people know exactly what NY values are”.

The surging contender, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, went with the tactic of explaining why Trump’s plan had appeal, rather than argue against it, but he did offer up his own plan to combat domestic threats from the terror group Islamic State (IS, previously ISIS/ISIL).

The candidates also took plenty of shots at Obama with Bush saying the idea that the country is better off today than before Obama took office is an “alternative universe”.
