Charlie Rose planning to interview Sean Penn about ‘El Chapo’ Guzman meeting

It has been claimed that Guzman had initially contacted actresses and producers because he wanted to make a biopic of his life, but the leaked exchanges seem to suggest he was more interested in del Castillo, who used the name Beauty in the messages, than the project.

“I’ve got nothin” to hide, ‘ says actor Sean Penn on meeting Guzman.

“I think it’s safe to assume that they understand that the world is watching how this case moves forward and that this individual needs to stay behind bars”, said US State Department spokesman John Kirby.

Barabas, in Los Angeles’ Fashion District, was quick to realise the drug lord was pictured in one of its shirts, and even quicker to cash in on it.

Guzman was re-apprehended Friday after a shootout between gunmen and Mexican marines at the home in Los Mochis, a seaside city in Guzman’s home state of Sinaloa. The Sinaloa cartel leader could be extradited to the United States, where he faces seven drug-related indictments in various jurisdictions.

When pressed for more details about his meet-up with Penn on Monday, Rose remained tight-lipped.

Several marines stormed the house in a firefight that left five cartel henchmen dead.

A judge has blocked the fast-track extradition proceedings of the Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, media reported Tuesday.

Both his original cell and the mile-long tunnel he had built have been “made unusable”, the official said, without specifying how.

The government official said the messages were genuine and that Guzman “had a kind of obsession” with the actress that was his undoing.

“I went to see him soon after I arrived and we’re planning to do an interview about his experience and what happened to him, Rose told reporters”.

Pena also said the drug lord’s fate could solidify the legacy of Mexico’s President Enrique Pena Nieto.

“What’s being investigated is the actions”. Authorities said food had been ordered for 13 people on the eve of the raid.

Sanchez said the government “regrets any acts of collaboration between any citizen and members of organized crime” or that a Mexican citizen “does not share” information that would help arrest a criminal.

Mexico received the USA extradition requests a year ago on a slew of charges, including drug trafficking and homicide.

Penn said Guzman reviewed the article before it was published but “did not ask for any changes”. The magazine article by Penn was published on Saturday.

Extraditing Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman to the United States could take a year or more, Mexican authorities said on Monday, while the slippery drug lord waits in the prison he previously escaped from.

As well as moving him from cell to cell, officials said other steps have been taken to prevent Guzman – who escaped from another prison in 2001 – from breaking out a third time.

El Chapo is now being held at Altiplano Prison
