Mikhail Prokhorov doesn’t seem very impressed with the Nets

The Nets sit at 10-27 and have lost four games in a row. The Nets are not in control of their own first-round draft pick until 2019. When the Nets hire a new general manager and coach, Prokhorov said he wants to have a “much firmer blueprint” on what type of team they are trying to build. Donald Sloan made his first start as a Net and Sergey Karasev of Russian Federation made a rare appearance, scoring two points in his first possession.

“I was kind of enjoying (the blowouts)”, guard Manu Ginobili said.

“This isn’t my first rodeo, I’ve been here before”, said Young. “That’s why we need a small reset for this year and I hope we’ll be back not as a playoff team, as a championship contender”.

“At every step of the way, he has been aggressive in his quest to build a winning team and has been a key factor toward the Nets making the playoffs for each of the last three seasons”, Prokhorov said.

The Nets are seeking a new vision and a fresh start at this crucial juncture to reform their team. He recently was approved to take over full ownership of both the Nets and Barclays Center, but there’s been speculation he could be looking to sell. “And as soon as we’re ready, as soon as deal is fixed, you will be the first to know”. “So for me it’s a very important lesson”. “I am all in”.

Former Nets general manager Rod Thorn had played a part in hiring King upon Thorn’s departure from the Nets in 2010, but Thorn had resigned his position. As things stand, Nets assistant GM Frank Zanin is running the day to day operations, as he has for most of the season, and is the face person on the Nets’ initial trade talks.

Kathy Willens/AP Tony Brown makes his debut as Nets head coach and suffers a blowout loss to the Spurs. He’ll go out and do it the way he thinks is best to do it and he won’t apologize for it. And it works.

The legendary college head coach is now at the University of Kentucky and did his typical song and dance when one of these reports emerges, saying he loves Kentucky and has a great job that he’s focused on, et cetera. We put a lot of names on the list.

On Monday, Mikhail Prokhorov, Nets chairman Dmitry Razumov and board member Sergey Kushchenko will fly in to watch the Nets play the Spurs, the model. But at no point did Prokhorov express a desire to change his aggressive strategy. “That was a team that had things broke the right way, their record would be a lot better than it is and they’re playing their best basketball in the last couple of weeks…”

But would Prokhorov be the one orchestrating the rebuilding plan, or would he allow his future GM and coach to have final say? The one they have been trying clearly isn’t working.
