$1 Million Powerball Winner in Maryland Almost Threw Ticket Away

According to the Ohio Lottery, a $1 million ticket was sold at a Speedway at 360 Miamisburg Centerville Rd.in Centerville.

The Wawa station that sold the winning ticket will receive $2,500.

He says he’s sold a few winning tickets over the years.

Beaming from ear-to-ear, Kathryn and Ricardo of Frederick, Md., claimed their $1 million Powerball prize from Wednesday night’s $1.6 billion record-breaking drawing.

Powerball tickets are sold in 44 states, as well as the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Since the game began in the Buckeye state, there have been three jackpot winners. “We haven’t sold the big $100 million”, he said.

Powerball has been played in OH since April of 2010.

All three winners matched all five numbers – except the Powerball.

Lottery officials said the couple told them they have “big but realistic plans for their prize” money.
