Arsene Wenger says Stoke station abuse was not personal
Arsenal have missed last year’s player of the year, Sanchez, through a hamstring injury picked up in the 1-1 draw against Norwich City on 29th November and the Chilean is set to undergo a late fitness test to determine if he is fit to feature in Sunday’s clash.

“He has two decisive days – Friday and Saturday. The decision we have to take is whether to take a gamble on his injury”.
Hughes’ side face league leaders Arsenal at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday now occupying seventh spot and they are only four points off Tottenham, who sit in the final qualifying berth for a place in next year’s Champions League.
“I bought Elneny because he can play with a defensive player and as well he can be the defensive player”, said Wenger. “I need to know more about him to see whether he becomes a defensive or box-to-box player”. “Apparently we have no injuries from the Liverpool game”.
Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is unlikely to make any more signings for Arsenal this month following the arrival of Mohamed Elneny this week. Your kid’s school play – sure, they’re cute but let’s be honest, kids can’t act for toffee and the whole thing, your own child’s glorious cameo aside, is as tedious as it gets.
“I’m confident that I will not find a better player than Welbeck on the market”.
“He is also a promising player who has already adapted to Europe, he is not straight from Egypt to England – he has played three years in Switzerland”.
Indeed, a 3-2 loss in last season’s corresponding fixture saw Wenger targeted by angry supporters when boarding a train back to London.
The winger has won only two major trophies in his 10 years at the Emirates Stadium and has been regularly frustrated by injuries but Wenger believes his best is still to come.
He said: “There are periods in the season, overall 90 per cent of the time we are very solid defensively, but on these two occasions [Southampton and Liverpool] we certainly looked vulnerable defensively”.
But if we step back and examine the result in isolation, as you ultimately have to do, there were positives for Wenger to build on.

“I took it as people who were upset because we lost a game and didn’t take it personally”.
