Los Angeles Rams: NFL Mocks Staff Reacts to the Relocation

ESPN reports that the Saint Louis Rams have officially moved the franchise to Los Angeles effective immediately which means they will play out of LA for the 2016-2017 season.

When the Rams spent two days in Oxnard, California, last August for training camp, a widespread rumor claimed the Rams are interested in building a permanent base in Thousand Oaks, the upscale suburb 35 miles west of downtown Los Angeles. The new stadium construction isn’t getting public funding and instead is to be privately financed at a cost that could exceed $2 billion.

“I think it’s dragging our city down”.

Spanos has had the right to leave San Diego since 2008, but the team’s efforts became more aggressive after Kroenke announced plans for the Inglewood move.

But if the Rams pull it off with no major missteps and a reasonably successful on-field product, this move could be extraordinarily rewarding for owner Stan Kroenke and his lavish Inglewood stadium complex.

There’s even more good news for San Diego: Giants co-owner Steve Tisch said he believes that it’s very “Unlikely” that the Chargers will play in L.A.in 2016. “There were bigger problems going on in L.A. when I was young”, said Sherman.

While the Rams, Raiders and Chargers were the leading candidates to be relocated, a handful of other options have been thrown out there in recent years.

“We understand the emotions involved of our fans”, he said. Four of them have filed a class action lawsuit, Courthouse News Service reported. Coliseum General Manager Joe Furin said crews will alter a few things to accommodate the National Football League and fans at the 93-year-old facility. If the Chargers wait until next year for the move or if they stay in San Diego and the Raiders end up moving, we’ll see a new team debuted in Madden 18.

There’s a caveat. The Raiders only get that money for a Bay Area stadium, and only get the money if a stadium agreement is reached by this time next year. However, both the Chargers and Raiders could receive an extra $100 million from the NFL to build stadiums in their home markets, on top of the $200 million the league already offers for such projects.

“It’s more than just a stadium”, Goodell said of the Inglewood project. The Rams held their 2015 training camp at Rams Park in Earth City, Missouri. Also, the league year begins March 9, and the Chargers will have a tough time signing free agents if it’s uncertain where they will be playing.

In a statement on Tuesday night, Raiders owner Mark Davis said that the Raiders will now turn their attention to exploring all options to find a permanent stadium solution.
