Long Island weather: Rain on the way Friday night, into Saturday morning

A Nor’easter is expected to clip the Mid-Atlantic coast Friday night and the New England coast on Saturday, but temperatures will be too warm for snow in CT and will instead lead to rain, according to the National Weather Service. But temperatures will be milder in South Central Montana with snow likely.

Snowfall could cause slick roadways on Saturday, forecasters say. The Ottawa region will start to see snow Saturday morning, continuing through the day.

About 4 inches of snow could fall Saturday night, with parts of the snow belt seeing even larger amounts on Sunday night.

Maritimes: A new strong low pressure system offshore is set to bring rain, freezing rain and snow to parts of the Maritimes Saturday. A trace to up to an inch of snow could fall in the metro; further west, anywhere from 1-2 inches are possible, with up to three inches in isolated locations.
