Hiddink rules out Chelsea additions this January

Costa was one of the main protagonists of a feisty 2-2 draw with West Brom on Wednesday and hit the tunnel in frustration when he left the field.

The Dutch tactician stated that Chelsea are not yet out of the relegation dogfight yet.

“It’s reality”, said Hiddink, who took over from Jose Mourinho in December.

Nevertheless, he should control it. He wasn’t out of order but he was on the edge.

The West Londoners are just six points clear of the relegation zone and are losing more and more ground on the top four, with 12 points now separating them from Tottenham Hotspur.

He continued: “There were no injuries in the last game”.

It’s a team who can play football, and is very risky.

“At the moment we have to be very careful”. They were goals maybe past year we didn’t concede because we were up top, and now they are the kind of goals you concede because you are down there.

“I hope in the upcoming week he will have full training sessions and then we can decide if he can join us for the Arsenal game next weekend”.

The Dutchman had previously been concerned by Chelsea’s lack of attacking options but has been relieved by Remy’s return to the squad after injury.

Chelsea face Everton in a crunch Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge today and the home side will be looking to avenge their humiliating defeat at Goodison Park from earlier this season.

“If you don’t gather the points, you don’t know what the others can do and the Premier League can surprise you”.

That said, backing a road win is hardly a saver at 15/4.

The captain has been key to successive clean sheets against Dagenham and Redbridge in the FA Cup, and at Eastlands in the league.

He added: “That’s a little bit new for me”.

“This was only my second 90 minutes in about three months”.

“We have to have good competition, good double occupation in every position… but we must not go into this danger when something happens with one or two strikers”.
