This One Weird Bug Will Make Siri Call the Cops

Well, this is slightly alarming.

Once the user makes the request the intelligent voice assistant will call 911 and the user will have 5 seconds to cancel the call. Saying “charge my phone 100 percent” to Siri automatically starts a call to the emergency services.

Obviously, this is not one to try at home.

Now, we highly recommend you don’t do this, as making unneeded calls to emergency services is not only a bad thing to do, but it’s also illegal in some cases. That’s to say that no matter how much of a charge you’d want on the iPhone or iPad, Siri obviously can’t help you.

It’s a unusual quirk that could either save your life or get you in trouble.

There’s no official documentation on this issue from Apple, and the company has yet to publicly comment on it, so once again, it’s likely a bug. It is unclear as to what the trigger might be, and some wondered if this could have been a bug or if it was a secret security feature that lets you place 911 calls discreetly.
