Rohit a terrific ODI player: Ganguly
After tormenting the Indians for not having DRS at their disposal – which would have resulted in him being given out caught behind first ball – Bailey said the pressure was on the tourists ahead of the second match at the Gabba on Friday.

India’s limited-overs captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Monday stood firmly behind Test skipper Virat Kohli stating that “all hell only breaks loose when wickets offer turn” and the ones on which batsmen are hit on their head are considered “good tracks”.
George Bailey admits it can be demoralising to bat with Steve Smith because of how easily the Australian captain can make his craft look.
Rohit smashed 13 fours and cleared the boundary seven times to the delight of the large contingent of Indian fans at the ground. PRAISE FOR SRAN Dhoni had words of praise for left-arm seamer Barinder Sran, who got 3/56 in his debut but also did not forget to mention that the jury is still out on the Punjab youngster.
“Sran bowled well in these conditions”.
Australia, on the other hand, have already announced their playing XI, and it includes five quick bowlers. “We were tested by India and we responded really well – in particular with a couple of debutants, so that’s really pleasing to see”.
Rohit and Virat have brought up their 50-runs partnership with a single off Scott Boland. India 86/1 after 18 overs.

But the hosts got the much needed and early breakthrough as Dhawan, trying to go for a hook, found himself caught at long leg by Mitchell Marsh. India 37/1 after 7 overs.
From there on it was a one-sided show by the visitors as incoming batsman Kohli and Rohit took the game to the next level by making batting look easy in front of a good crowd.
With three pacers, two medium pacers and an irregular spinner in their line-up, Australia were on the back foot as the right-handed pair kept on piling runs and inching closer to individual milestones. Bailey reached his third ODI ton off 106 balls and Smith brought up his fifth ODI century off just 97 balls to complete the 200-run stand off 197 balls.
His partner Kohli also kept on scoring but fell agonisingly short of his century. All-rounder James Faulkner returned to the team for the first time since he served a suspension for a drink driving offense.

Bailey eventually holed out into the deep off Ravichandran Ashwin (2-68) and Glenn Maxwell (6) departed in similar fashion, but by that stage an Australia win was a near-formality.
