Marshawn Lynch performed well in practice, according to offensive coordinator

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch says he is “ready” to play against the Panthers, and he faces a tough challenge against Carolina’s defense. Carroll has cautioned at every turn that Lynch is day-to-day, perhaps wary of assuming anything with regards to his status given the way he was also a full participant all last week only to determine following Friday’s workout that he couldn’t play.

Coach Pete Carroll had said about an hour before Lynch got on the bus that the star’s “bags are packed”.

This week, Carroll said Michael will, “play a lot”, which is interesting because Lynch is used to 20 to 25 carries a game. As it turned out, Seattle did just that (Seahawks won 31-17) en route to meeting New England in Super Bowl XLIX.

While assumptions can be unsafe with Lynch, all indications this week have been that he’s on track to play Sunday for the first time in more than two months.

But just because it took a missed 27-yard field goal for the Seahawks to advance to the Divisional round, it doesn’t mean they can’t knock off 15-1 Panthers this weekend. Rookie Tyler Lockette has been impressive with 51 catches and 6 touchdowns, and earned All-Pro honors as a return specialist with punt and kickoff return touchdowns. Jackson was the only other running back to receive a carry and that was just once. The sack issues have been ironed out through a combination of improved protection and tweaks to the offensive schemes, and Seattle averaged 32 points per game during the second half of the regular season.

The Seahawks running back plans to travel to Carolina for Sunday’s game.

Seeming to refer specifically to Sunday’s win in frigid Minneapolis, Baldwin added: “You’ve got to eat more carbs because you spend so much energy trying to stay warm in that cold, but also the energy spent on the emotional roller-coaster”. You never know which play is going to be the one that causes you to lose the game, so every play counts.

“He looks good. I can’t judge each and every day, but probably one of the best days that he had out here today”, Bevell said last Wednesday. Quarterback Russell Wilson has been the driving force – the former NC State standout has racked up over 4000 yards and 34 touchdowns, 24 of those coming in the final 7 games. Christine Michael is expected to remain involved, but isn’t a major threat to his workload. While getting the valuable time to heal up more after his abdominal surgery Lynch can come back, help the Seahawks win and show his value to the team. But I don’t think they’re the team that’s going to emerge out of the AFC. “They know the same thing about us”.
