The Simpsons and Futurama creator to make show for Netflix?
Matt Groening, the creator of “The Simpsons”, will make the series for the online video streaming giant. Reports confirm Groening is readying a new animated series for Netflix, though the concept remains under lock and key. He now serves as an Executive Producer and Creative Consultant for the Simpsons.

The details of the mooted new production aren’t yet clear; there have been no leaks regarding plot, cast, and target demographic. The deal isn’t expecting to pull Groening away from The Simpsons; he’ll continue to be showrunner for the legendary series, now in its 27th season on FOX. Little else is known about this new project aside from the fact that Groening will handle writing duties.

That said, animated series BoJack Horseman has been well received by critics, and is due to return this year for its third season. Certainly, the Groening name comes with a high pedigree, though it remains to be seen exactly how much involvement Groening would have, as was the case with Futurama.
