But it’s Manning who must now soldier on and lead the Giants without Coughlin, the only National Football League coach he’s ever known. NY lost five games in the final 74 seconds of regulation, including four in the final 7 seconds.
Mara was asked about various issues surrounding the Giants’ coaching search and made it clear he would pursue all avenues, including trading draft picks for a coach if needed.
The team struggled this season, not only because of a lack of talent, but tactically, too, as they blew several games with poor clock management and play-calling. “You know, the roster is up to me and I take full responsibility for everything that happened”. “My contention is there’s a higher ground, there’s a greater goal. that objective is team”, Coughlin said. Coughlin spoke about Eli Manning’s ability to adjust under a new head coach and spoke glowingly of him.
