Royals avoid arbitration with Dyson, Coleman, Cruz deals
The Kansas City Royals reached a deal with left-hander Danny Duffy on Friday but third baseman Mike Moustakas and center fielder Lorenzo Cain are headed to arbitration. His allegiance was never questioned and he is Forever Royal after agreeing to the one-year contract.

The 25-year-old Rosenthal set a franchise record with 48 saves last year and leads the majors with 93 saves the last two seasons.
Cain, 29, is coming off the best season of his six-year career.
Dyson received a raise from $1.225 million previous year to $1.725 million this season. But the Royals already have Alex Gordon signed through his age-36 season, and balked at the idea of having two outfielders signed for those years.
Drew Butera got a $1,162,500 contract that includes $12,000 in performance bonuses and $50,000 for an All-Star selection. The specialist reliever can also earn a $50,000 bonus for making the All-Star team. Financial terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed, but Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports first reported that the two sides were close to a deal for $17.5 million.
