Nissan Rogue Warrior concept unveiled with snow tracks

The one-off SUV gives a new meaning to all-terrain capable, as instead of standard wheels, it equips an aggressive snow track system appropriately called the Dominator. It probably isn’t the ideal candidate for a set of tracks because of its lack-of-power and general snooze-level, but that’s one of the reasons the Warrior version is so cool. In fact, Nissan’s all-wheel drive system adapts to road conditions 30 times faster than the blink of an eye.

The tracks are not the only improvement brought to the vehicle, as the suspensions were also adjusted, custom snow guards were applied, and minor body tuning was made, to make allowance for the tracks. The production Rogue’s advanced Xtronic® transmission remains untouched, as does the AWD drivetrain.

Unfortunately, Nissan doesn’t have any plans to show the Rogue Warrior in the US, since it was created by Nissan’s Canadian operation, according to Autoblog.

With the ability to perform in a variety of environments, the Rogue Warrior was specifically created to handle snowy conditions. Combined with the high-grip tracks, the powertrain enables the Warrior to hit 62 miles per hour and scale a 45-degree grade, with 23 unbelievable inches of ground clearance.

That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some Rogue Warrior action, though. Olivier Bédard, Nissan Micra Cup champion, shows up to a crowded lift line in the Warrior, giving frustrated skiers and snowboarders a ride to the top of the hill. “The Rogue Warrior is an awesome beast of a machine – driving it makes you feel like you can conquer any challenge that comes in your path”. Completely redesigned for model year 2014, the Nissan Rogue has experienced 25 consecutive months of record sales, with sales more than doubling in two years. “This video shows an entertaining side of our brand’s persona, and does justice to the extreme capabilities of the Rogue Warrior – an idea developed and executed entirely in Canada”.
