North Korea, meanwhile, published a photo Monday of leader Kim Jong-Un posing formally with hundreds of scientists, workers and officials who participated in the latest test.

He has also sought a meeting with his Russian counterpart.
In a show of force and support for its allies in the region, the United States on Sunday sent a nuclear-capable B-52 bomber based in Guam on a flight over South Korea.
The B52 conducted a low-level flight before heading back to Andersen Air Base in Guam, where it is stationed. “We know they will continue doing it, so the real question is what will we do about it”. But trade bans on arms and luxury items have failed to convince it to return to disarmament talks that broke down in 2009, leading it to revive the production of nuclear devices.

North Korea’s Rodong Sinmun newspaper, the mouthpiece of the ruling Workers’ Party, said that the United States was bringing the political situation to the brink of war by sending strategic bombers to South Korea.
South Korea is now airing the propaganda broadcasts at 11 points along the tensely guarded border.
The test has angered world powers, including the North’s key ally China, and the UN Security Council has said it will roll out new measures to punish the maverick state.
But former State Department officials said any new sanctions won’t have teeth unless China makes a major shift in policy toward its rebellious ally.
“History proves that powerful nuclear deterrence serves as the strongest treasured sword for frustrating outsiders’ aggression”, a KCNA editorial said Friday, adding that the “law of the jungle” prevails in the global landscape, with only the strongest surviving.
“Peace and stability in East Asia serve the fundamental interests of all parties”.
Kim, who has purged a number of top leaders, has hailed the nuclear test as a complete success, though experts say initial indications indicate that it wasn’t a hydrogen bomb.
North Korea has employed moveable loudspeaker equipment. “We know responding in this way is simply rising to the bait North Korea is presenting to us”.
“We hope that our fellow Koreans in the North will be able to live in a society that doesn’t invade individual lives as soon as possible”, a female presenter said in parts of the broadcast that officials revealed to South Korean media. The North had called the broadcast a threat to its regime as they contrast the North’s economic suffering with the South’s achievements in democracy and economy.
