Representative: Singer Celine Dion’s brother has cancer
Celine Dion (47) asked for privacy after she announced on Thursday the death of her husband and long-time manager, René Angélil, at the age of 73 after a long battle with throat cancer.

Mr Angelil was born in Montreal in 1942.
He was a part of the group Les Baronnets until 1972, when he made a decision to manage the careers of several singers in Quebec. However, Angelil wanted her to stay strong and work on her music.
Just then, another opportunity arose. “Our family is very experienced”, she said.
Robin Leach of “Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous” fame has been a journalist for more than 50 years and has spent the past 15 years giving readers the inside scoop on Las Vegas, the world’s premier platinum playground. He was so struck by her voice that he signed her to an exclusive management contract – mortgaging his house to finance her debut album.
In 1999, her song My Heart Will Go On, from the soundtrack of the film Titanic, won two Grammy awards.
In 1994, when she was 26 and he was twice her age, the couple married in an extravagant wedding ceremony that was televised live in Canada, and splashed all over glossy magazines.
“It looks a lot like Rene, he had cancer of the throat, tongue and brain”. Their mother has flown from Las Vegas to his Montreal hospital bedside. He stepped down as her manager in 2014. The mentor-manager was 72, according to USA Today.

Funeral plans have not been announced for Angelil. “I understand. Talk to me about it.’ And Rene says to me, ‘I want to die in your arms.’ Okay, fine, I’ll be there, you’ll die in my arms”.
