In the aftermath of a scrappy SC debate, the rivalry between Republican presidential hopefuls Donald Trump and Ted Cruz intensified Friday as the NY billionaire expanded his rhetorical assault on the Texas senator.

The debate among seven Republican candidates in SC came as unease grows within the Republican party over Mr Trump’s front runner status. But that fellow next to you, Donald Trump – and others – have said that being born in Canada means you are not natural-born, and that has raised questions about your eligibility.
Cruz’s eligibility issue, meanwhile, has already been settled as far as House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy is concerned.
And as you know, the U.S. Constitution says only natural-born citizens are eligible for the office of president of the United States.
He repeated the attack throughout the week on Fox News and on the stage of the sixth Republican presidential debate Thursday night hosted by the Fox Business Network. We are sure Cruz, and plenty of attorneys, believe that as long as you are a born a USA citizen – which Cruz was – that makes you a “natural born citizen”.
And declaring that people who think a certain way “have no place in the state of New York” sure sounds like rank “demonizing” to us.
The two also sparred over Cruz’s claim that Trump embodied “New York values”.
Trump expressed his ire at the comments during the debate, calling it a “very insulting statement”.
“I think it was right for Donald Trump to defend New York City, and to talk about the heroic actions of the people of this city after 9/11”, the mayor said.
The Daily News headlined: “Drop Dead, Ted – Hey, Cruz: You don’t like N.Y. values?” Cruz said those values – pro-abortion rights, including supporting partial birth abortion and pro-gay marriage – explained Trump’s world view.
Instead, the Republican presidential candidate apologized to New Yorkers for being let down by “liberal politicians”.
“New York is a great place, it’s got great people, it’s got loving people, wonderful people”.
He noted that “New Yorkers may go about things differently” but their values are the same as the rest of America.

Campaigning Friday in New Hampshire, Rubio kept up an attack he leveled at Christie Thursday night over support for President Obama’s first Supreme Court nominee, Sonia Sotomayor. And by the way, where does Cruz get off condemning people for trying to get paid while at the same time taking money from wife’s bosses at Goldman Sachs in the form of a loan to fund his Senate campaign?
