Wind chills reached minus 40 in Bemidji Saturday morning and in the minus 20s in the Twin Cities. Winds will continue to gust up to 30 miles per hour.
Wind Chill Advisories (light-blue-shaded areas) are also in effect for most of Wisconsin and eastern Iowa into western IL for wind chills -25 to -35-degrees later tonight into Sunday. The chance of measurable new snow accumulation through January 20 is predicted to be slight.
The skies remain clear Sunday night as the low drops to around -9. A cold northwest wind at 15 to 25mph will come with the winter chill. Temperatures will drop below zero in most spots, with some into the -10’s. This will include single-digit lows Monday morning, and wind chills registering below zero beginning Sunday night.

Weather officials warn that wind chills that low can lead to frostbite within minutes for any exposed skin. The long-term average high and low temperatures for January at Kimball are 39.7 and 14.3, respectively. Following that is another chance of accumulating snow on Tuesday.
