Singer Celine Dion has suffered another loss just days after the death of her husband, Rene Angelil, from cancer.

The release says he died Saturday morning in a palliative care residence outside Montreal. “He will be remembered as a gentle man, generous and kind, an unprecedented visionary, a modern Pygmalion, a Renaissance man”, Celine wrote on her official Facebook page.

At the time, the singer was working out funeral arrangements for her husband before returning to Las Vegas to perform. Sources inform that the news about her brother has shattered her. Daniel Dion was 59 years old.
Mr Angelil’s illness, first diagnosed in 1999, prompted Ms Dion to put her career on hold in 2014, suspending her Las Vegas residency.
Both Billboard and TMZ reported that he had been battling brain, tongue and throat cancer, according to his sister Claudette.
In his native Montreal, flags were flying at half-staff in honour of Angelil, praised by the city’s mayor as a man who ” never forgot his roots”.

“He was ready, and isn’t suffering any more”, she said. Her next scheduled show is February 23.
