Mr. Bhat, a known counter-insurgency cop, was seriously injured on December 24 when militants opened fire at him from a close range. During the probe conducted at the Bijbehara police station, four assault rifles were found missing. This incident comes barely a few months after such cases surfaced in the Kashmir Valley.
