Afghan politician’s home hit by deadly blast
“The blast caused 12 killed, including the attacker, and injured 13 others”, a security source told Xinhua, citing the latest information by security authorities.

According to Tolo News, officials have said that one of the injured is Shinwari’s father Malek Osman, who is also a tribal elder.
Early reports indicate it was close to provincial council member Obaidullah Shinwari’s house.
Ambulances rushed to the scene, which was littered with pieces of human flesh, sandals and charred debris.
However, the Taliban, who are divided by factional infighting, did not attend that session.
Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack on the Pakistan consulate in Jalalabad.
The group, which controls territory across Syria and Iraq, is making gradual inroads in Afghanistan, challenging the Taleban on their own turf. A Taliban spokesman tweeted that his group was not involved.
The Taliban militant group has intensified attacks across the country since the start of this year, which coincides with the potential resumption of government-Taliban peace talks.
The attack came a day before a second round of worldwide talks aimed at reviving the peace process between the Afghan government and the Taliban.

The talks will see representatives of Afghanistan, Pakistan, the United States and China meet to formulate a roadmap for a dialogue that will eventually, they hope, include Taliban representatives.
