“He is full of temperament and he is very vertical in his way of playing”, said Hiddink. He is an emotional guy and I like it very much.

The Dutchman looked set for a first taste of defeat in his sixth game back at the Chelsea helm when substitute Ramiro Funes Mori put Everton ahead in the 90th minute, but Terry equalised deep into stoppage time to salvage a point for the defending Premier League champions. I think it was a big moment. Epitomised the determination of West Brom to take something from a niggly game.

Both teams had chances to go in front: Costa missed with an air-shot from close range and Mirallas broke forward but was denied by Courtois racing off his line to make the clearance. “The fight, the desire from the squad was unbelievable to come back and we were unlucky not to win the game”.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois criticised West Brom’s approach in Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, claiming the Baggies tried to “provoke” the Blues.

Costa was denied and Kenedy shot wide before McClean equalized from the edge of the area after Chelsea twice failed to clear.

Chelsea’s defensive woes despite having some seasoned names have been their major downfall this season as it was evident under former manager Jose Mourinho too this term and that has continued under Hiddink too.

Chelsea are 4/5 to win this weekend’s game, with Everton 19/5 and the draw 29/10.

“We have to be a little bit careful we don’t have another setback. You need to average 2.8 points per match – so you have to win your games at home”.

“We don’t know the result yet and I hope it’s not bad”, Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink admitted.

It’s not the first time this season Chelsea will be without Costa’s services, after he suffered a retrospective suspension following clashes with Arsenal defenders Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista at the start of the term, per BBC Sport.

– No side has lost more points from leading positions this season than Chelsea (12 – level with Bournemouth and Newcastle).
