Michigan AG to open investigation into Flint water crisis
To keep the water flowing until then, the city began drawing from the river.

“We need the president of the United States here”, Moore said.
National Guard troops and local volunteers are now working to deliver bottled water and water filters to residents. “But aid under that designation tends to be far less and far more limited, allowing, for instance, for debris removal and emergency measures, not the kind of permanent work Snyder is seeking to have done replacing water lines with lead in them”.
Dave Murray – a spokesperson for the governor’s office – said in a statement that finger-pointing from candidates not involved in finding solutions for Flint only serve to distract from solving the crisis. The funds were also used for water filters, inspections, and lab testing which has led to Snyder’s recent directive.
Bernie Sanders is not pleased with the way Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has handled the Flint water crisis, and now he’s voicing his frustrations with absolutely no reservations.
President Barack Obama on Saturday declared a state of emergency in Flint, Michigan, where officials allegedly ignored the detriments of a water source that exposed almost everyone in the city to lead poisoning and other contaminants.
Additionally, Flint residents were dealt another blow on Wednesday when Governor Snyder announced there had been a surge in the number of cases of legionnaires disease in Flint over the past year, possibly linked to the tainted water in Flint.
The tap water in Flint, population 99,000, became contaminated after the city in 2014 switched its water supply to the Flint River while a pipeline to Lake Huron is under construction.
On Thursday, House Democratic Leader Tim Greimel said Snyder should resign if he was aware of the dangers posed by Flint’s water and failed to respond appropriately. He pledged this week that officials would contact every household in Flint to check whether residents have bottled water and a filter and whether they want to be tested for lead exposure while his administration works on a long-term solution.
The anger among Flint residents over their long-running water crisis was on full display during the press conference – particularly in the signs many drew up for the occasion. The state Department of Environmental Quality has acknowledged a mistake in failing to require the addition of needed corrosion control chemicals to the water.
