Rachel Reekie, a Sanders supporter and Keen State University student who was in elementary school during Clinton’s presidency, said she was “fully aware” of the allegations.

“I do want to make sure that this legislation does not negatively impact small gun stores in rural America that serve the hunting community”, said Sanders, who represents Vermont in the Senate. “We’re going to have a spirited debate”.

“Bernie has a very left-liberal perspective that I really believe in, and Hillary is a bit more conservative”, Neblett said.

First Hillary Clinton spent months keeping from even uttering Bernie Sanders’ name.

“It’s not a problem”, he told Tapper.

Clinton campaign chairman John Poesta said the team was pleased with the change, but that it was a flip-flop.

In a press release Saturday, Sanders backed legislation that would weaken a 2005 law protecting gun manufacturers and dealers from lawsuits when their firearms are used in crimes. Andrews said she has been a Sanders supporter since 1984 when she moved to Burlington and Sanders was mayor. So at Sunday’s NBC News Democratic Primary Debate we can expect her to talk not just about gun control, health care and the economy, but also electability.

During campaign swings through Iowa and New Hampshire, Bill Clinton treaded fastidiously through tightly controlled campaign events.

Her campaign has attempted to make the vote a major issue in the race, along with Sanders’ proposal for a single-payer health care system, which Clinton has attacked as unrealistic.

Podesta’s belated comment also came after the Sanders campaign issued its own fundraising plea off of this report, calling it “a new, vile super PAC attack on Bernie”. While Mr. Sanders now leads Mrs. Clinton in Iowa and New Hampshire, according to some polls, the NBC News/Wall Street Journal figures show the former secretary of state with a commanding lead nationally.

Speaking with Tapper after Clinton, Sanders said he was healthy and planned on releasing details soon. A new Gallup poll showed him gain his highest net favorable rating yet. Monday, he will appear at a King Day rally in Birmingham, Alabama, with Cornel West and Nina Turner, a former OH legislator who made waves when she jumped from Clinton to Sanders last fall. By contrast, Hillary Clinton has been stressing her electability and questioning the costs of Sanders’ ideas.

Clinton presaged her campaign focus in a web ad during President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech last week.

Unlike previous debates which featured multiple rounds full of candidates, Sunday’s gathering will only have three participants: former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, Vermont Sen.
