Donald Trump launches Twitter broadside against Ted Cruz

“I think that whether you’re a Democrat or whether you’re Republican, that every New Yorker was upset about it. Because it was nuts!” the grocery store mogul and Republican donor told MSNBC on Friday afternoon.

During Thursday night’s Republican presidential debate, candidates Ted Cruz and Donald Trump argued about “New York values”.

Ted Cruz for his attack on “New York values” – and with good reason.

“We rebuilt downtown Manhattan and everybody in the world watched and everybody in the world loved NY and loved New Yorkers”, he continued. “I told you so”, the bombastic billionaire tweeted early Saturday.

Other people wrote about the diversity and cultural awareness in NY.

Cruz’s statement prompted cries for an apology from many New Yorkers and he responded Saturday morning by going on the offensive.

Here is the 1999 interview, brought to you by the Cruz campaign, in which Donald Trump elucidates what Ted Cruz now is referring to as “New York values”. You tell me that 33%, that 40% nationally, he didn’t just drill it down to a New Hampshire or an Iowa, where he’s leading by double digits, except against Cruz in Iowa where he’s much closer, but he’s at 27, 25.

Trump grabbed onto two new reports in order to question Cruz’s character while simultaneously embracing his favorite issue against the senator: Canada.

“I’m always open to give him an education on what NY values are all about”, Cuomo said on NY1.

The paper also published a response from New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo. In perhaps his strongest moment at any GOP debate, Trump unloaded on Cruz Thursday by making a poignant appeal to the strength New Yorkers showed following the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Cruz “has no trouble taking money from New York City, but he’s quick to insult our people and our values”, said de Blasio. “I think the American people are looking for a commander-in-chief who is stable and steady and a calm hand to keep this country safe”.

Cruz was due to address voters on Friday in SC and called Rubio following the debate another Washington politician. Not to mention that it goes way, way beyond anything Ted Cruz had to say.
