Donald Trump: “I will gladly accept the mantle of anger”
A day after President Obama’s State of the Union address, more people were talking about Haley’s GOP response – and her warning that Republicans not “follow the siren call of the angriest voices” – than anything the president said.

However, Haley’s words also received praise from a lot of Republicans, including Jeb Bush and Paul Ryan, who has shown that he is willing to work with Democrats.
The adviser did say that people in leadership in Washington looked at the speech and made some minor grammatical suggestions, but that is about it.
Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt confronted Ann Coulter in a still-friendly back and forth tonight for her angry tweeting about Nikki Haley and her continued doubts about Ted Cruz’s citizenship status. “I’m angry at the way the country’s being run and by the results that we have”.
Without offering specifics, she said while Democrats bear much responsibility, Republicans “need to accept that we’ve played a role in how and recognize why our government is broken”.
Haley is not the only politician whom has been a beneficiary of Trump’s money who has seen their relationship sour with him.
“We removed a symbol that was being used to divide us”, she said Tuesday of the flag’s lowering.
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley this week called for more civility in the conduct of her party’s raucous Republican presidential nomination contest, but her plea so far has only served to inflame tensions among the party’s warring factions.
“They are looking for someone who fits the profile that they want to be the face of the Republican Party and that’s the rationale”, King added later in an interview, speaking of party leaders. “And for that, she deserves credit”, he said.
“Trump has definitely contributed to what I think is just irresponsible talk”, Haley said on television. Take it of you want.
Hewitt asked Coulter what she thought about Cruz’s eligibility to be president and Coulter said, “I’ve always thought he wasn’t natural born”. Hewitt still insisted Haley has a strong anti-immigration stance.
“Governor Haley’s response represents a Republican Party whose values do not match up with their rhetoric”, said S.C. Democratic Party Chairman Jaime Harrison. “I think this is on you, Ann”.
Haley’s response to Obama’s annual address was unusual in that it took a veiled shot at her own party’s presidential front-runner, Donald Trump. “I view it as an opportunity but it’s also easily explainable”, Johnson said. It was focusing on the fact that the name Haley uses now, Nikki, was not the one given to her at birth. “By no means am I trying to endorse everything that she’s doing, but I do think that a lot of this, including parts of the speech last night, were admirable”.

The difference highlighted a genuine split in the Republican Party, with Haley’s comments hailed by party leaders for their upbeat tone -something they believe the primary largely lacked and could put the party in danger this November.
