Service pup comforts bride on wedding day

It was like the dog was saying, “Hey, I’m going home with you today”.

Whoever says diamond’s are a girl’s best friend clearly doesn’t have a dog.

The photo has already gained almost 1.6 million views on Reddit since it was posted Wednesday. “Without Bella, my life wouldn’t be the same, so it just made sense that she would be a part of mine and my husband’s big day”.

“We joke around that she actually picked me”, Parrott told CBS News.

“I think on Sunday I posted a couple of preview photos”, Peschong said.

Bella’s owner Valerie suffers from anxiety and relies on her loyal labrador to help her through particularly tough times.

“We’ve been inseparable ever since”. “It certainly opened my eyes to understand that service dogs are for many people, not just those who have a need that you can see from the outside”.

Valerie Parrott shares a sweet moment with her service dog, Bella.

“Bella’s medical alert title refers to her ability to predict and inform me of different type of body changes”, Parrott writes on her blog. It shows Parrott in her wedding dress, ready to walk down the aisle. “Basically it helps me to take a moment away from whatever is causing the anxiety and keeps me from having a panic attack”. A tactic she often does when Parrott is anxious, stressed or on the verge of a panic attack.

Parrott said that Bella has been a constant in her life for the past two years, and that there was no doubt she would be included in the wedding plans.

The touching shot, which was captured by photographer Maddie Peschong, shows the moment Bella tries to alert Valerie to the fact her heart rate is elevated. So when bride Valerie Parrott shared a photo of her service dog, Bella, calming her before her big reveal, we just about melted. “A lot of people look at a service dog team and forget that it is because of that partnership, that both dog and handler cannot only survive life, they can thrive at it”.

“To have people take this kind of attention to it, and then to have Val be able to turn this into a really teachable moment to educate about service dogs, has been extremely special”, Peschong told CNN.
