Donald Trump may sue Ted Cruz over presidential eligibility: ‘When I file

Cruz argued that liberal “New York values” were formulated by Donald Trump himself, noting a 1999 “Meet the Press” interview with Tim Russert in which Trump said he was “very pro-choice” and cited his “New York background”. The two leading candidates for the Republican nomination had previously pledged not to attack each other.

“He spoke very disparagingly about the people of New York”, Trump said of Cruz. And it was moving, and that’s not what we always expect from Donald Trump and quite honest.

Cruz, who suddenly has started criticizing Trump after seven months of refusing to do so, essentially offered SC voters a roadmap to vet him.

Donald Trump drew a distinction between eligibility questions surrounding Marco Rubio’s run for the presidency versus those clouding Ted Cruz’s bid, saying the Florida senator is qualified because although his parents were not US citizens at the time of his birth, he was born in the USA – unlike Cruz. “It is nearly unanimous on this, that not only is Cruz qualified to be U.S. President, so would President Obama”. “I’d do the public a big favor”, Trump responded, but he would not say whether he’d actually file such a suit.

New Yorkers are taking Ted Cruz’s swipe at what he called “New York values” very personally.

The issue could harm Cruz.

“Don’t listen to the words on the campaign trail”, Cruz said. The RCP national average for Trump is 34.5 percent while Cruz is at 19.3 percent.

Cruz had joked during the debate about the possibility of selecting Trump as his vice president if Cruz becomes the presidential nominee, as Trump could therefore be president if Cruz is found to be ineligible for being born in Canada. And he saved his barbs until the end of a meandering 45-minute speech. The Senate forms do not state explicitly that the money was used on his campaign.

“If the Supreme Court goes against me and (Cruz is) eligible… that satisfies my objective”, Schwartz said. “Only the U.S. Supreme Court can finally decide, determine judicially and settle this issue now”. “And again, it may be a little bit of a New York background because there is some different attitude in different parts of the country, and you know, I was raised in New York-grew up and worked and everything else in New York City”.

In this case, there’s risk for both candidates. He didn’t report his bank loans. It’s just a matter of when they want to pull it out and cast doubt in the minds of the voters.

Yet Trump could prove the exception.

“Trump stood up for NY 100 percent”, gushed Democratic Sen.

The famously aggressive NY media have gone full bore against Cruz.

But some in this New Hampshire crowd are hoping that Trump’s next bromance will be with Brown.

As for their mutual audience Saturday, opinions appeared hard-baked weeks before Iowa’s February 1 caucuses. And he refined that to say not a lot of conservatives come out of Manhattan in this particular debate. “He’s a consistent conservative”.
