Swansea set to name Italian Francesco Guidolin as head coach
Swansea City are expected to appoint Francesco Guidolin as head coach today on a contract until 2017.

The south Wales club placed Curtis in caretaker charge after Monk’s departure and then announced on 7 January that the 61-year-old would continue as the club’s interim manager until the end of the season.
“I’d expect to be here until the end of the season but if results go against us and the club deem it that they need to bring someone in at short notice, then so be it”, Curtis said.
The former Udinese coach has been out of work since leaving the Zebrette in 2014.
And the need for stability has only heightened after they slipped into the relegation zone on Saturday for the first time this season following Newcastle United’s 2-1 win over West Ham.
It is the latest stage in a hard and drawn-out recruitment process, which saw chairman Huw Jenkins admit he has faced numerous knockbacks after sacking Garry Monk.
Swansea’s owners fear relegation to the Championship because of the whopping new television deal which kicks in at top-flight level come next season.
It is hoped Guidolin, who has managed 11 different Italian teams as well as Monaco, will be in the stands for tomorrow night’s Premier League clash with Watford, live on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports 1HD.
But Curtis, who has seen it all in more than 40 years at the club, says it is the desire to see Swansea competing with the top clubs which is his motivation.
“From those games we could have had an extra six or seven points at least, which would have given us a huge lift, and we’d be far more relaxed about our prospects for the rest of the season”.
“I’ve always said our style will be the thing that will save us or take us down, but I don’t want to think about that”.

“But we know a big key to us getting something out of the game will be how we control and contain them”.
