Gaza court sentences four Palestinians to death over ‘spying’
A relative of Palestinian militant Mussa Zeater, who was killed in an attack by an Israeli aircraft, mourns during his funeral in the northern Gaza Strip January 13, 2016.

An Israeli strike killed a Palestinian and injured three in Gaza on Wednesday in an attack that the army claimed had prevented a bomb by the targeted group from being placed on the Israeli border.
The Israeli military says forces shot and killed a Palestinian after he tried to stab a soldier in the West Bank.
A court source said the four were convicted on “charges of spying for the occupation”, including “surveillance” and providing information about cars and homes to help Israel plan alleged assassinations.
In response, the Gaza Hamas government warned against Israel’s “continued aggression against our people in Gaza”.
Witnesses told Ma’an that Israeli military vehicles and bulldozers had crossed the border fence into the strip around 7 a.m. east of Beit Lahiya before leveling lands on the Palestinian side of the border. Israel says 93 of these were assailants, while most of the others died in clashes with Israeli security forces.
Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip more than a decade ago, but it continues to control all aspects of life in the Palestinian territory, deciding who can enter or leave.
Huwaida Arraf, a dual United States and Israeli national, was on board a USA boat named Challenger 1, which was part of the flotilla trying to deliver humanitarian aid in circumvention of Israel’s blockade of Gaza. In the same time, 24 Israelis have been killed.
From Gaza, he sneaked through the “death zone” border area to Israel, then to the occupied West Bank, where he hid in the Hebron hills before being smuggled by a tribe that escaped the war to Jordan.

Palestinians protest Israeli terrorist attacks against civilian targets in the Gaza Strip. In 1975, Fatah-led PLO factions were at the heart of Lebanon’s civil war, triggered partly by the Phalange massacre in Ein Al-Rumaneh, where almost 50 Palestinian children were ambushed and murdered.
