Cruz then proceeded, in detail, to attack Cuomo, the governor of New York, for his disapproval of fracking, the controversial energy extraction process, while also aiming his sights on de Blasio, New York City’s mayor, for his policies on taxes, charter schools and policing. Lawsuits have just been filed with more to follow. “There was nothing to this birther issue”, he said, adding, “Since September, the Constitution hasn’t changed. And I have to tell you, that was a very insulting statement that Ted made”.

When given the opportunity to respond, Trump cited positive poll numbers, saying the headline was “Trump way up, Cruz going down”.
Trump fired back at Cruz Sunday, labeling him a “very strident” person whose attack on New Yorkers was vague and untrue. “He didn’t want the public to see that he went out and borrowed money from Goldman Sachs”.
Trump easily leads Cruz in national polls, but Cruz has surged in recent weeks to roughly tie Trump in polls of the February 1 Iowa caucus, the first sate to weigh in on the presidential primary. “I’m not going to be taking legal advice from Donald Trump”, Cruz fired back. Ted Cruz (R-TX) by saying he isn’t well liked. That time he mocked a disabled reporter?
Mark Silk, a professor of religion in public life at Trinity College, said that while he has no reason to believe Cruz is anti-Semitic, “he’s conjuring up an image of a fast-talking, secular, money-preoccupied, media-saturated NY character”.
Trump began the morning by slamming Cruz in a series of tweets. He has dismissed attacks on his eligibility and pointed out during a Republican candidates’ debate on Thursday that 2008 Republican presidential nominee John McCain and 1968 Republican candidate George Romney also were born outside the United States but still were considered eligible to be president.
In front of the same audience a few hours earlier, Cruz opted not to mention Trump at all, apparently intent on de-escalating their feud as they pursue for the same frustrated, anti-establishment voters who have defined the GOP campaign thus far. “I wish I knew him then”. Goldman Sachs owns him, he will do anything they demand. “I think it’s a major game changer for Donald Trump, probably his finest moment in the campaign”, he said.
“When you look at what he said, and the way he said it and the scorn towards NY, I thought it was a disgrace”, he said.
“I imagine it pulled him out of bed this morning and send him tweeting and tweeting and tweeting”, he said.

“I apologize to all the pro-life and pro-marriage and pro-Second Amendment New Yorkers who are told by Gov. Cuomo that they have no place in New York because that’s not who New Yorkers are”, Cruz continued.
