Ted Cruz begins New Hampshire push amid Trump drama
His opponents, by contrast, often acting with visible desperation to attract attention as voters start making up their minds, seemed mostly intent on fighting among themselves.

Now is the time for Cruz to gracefully bow out of the race.
By broad consensus, the victor of Thursday night’s GOP debate was Donald Trump, followed by Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, with most of the post-game commentary focused on “the fight” between Cruz and Trump.
Cruz has for months refused to criticize Trump fearful that if he does he may alienate the reality TV star’s supporters who he hopes to eventually attract. Cruz-Rubio clash Cruz also worked to fight off a series of attacks from Rubio who accused his colleague from Texas of changing positions on several key issues involving immigration. “It’s going to be a sad day, but we will hit back-I promise”. He now has adopted a much harsher tone and a bleaker assessment of the nation’s standing.
Cruz argues that because his mother is American, he became a USA citizen at birth.
“Edward Snowden is a traitor”. It would be refreshing, however, to have a candidate who could stick to his or her values and vision but at the same time refrain from dismissing and demonizing those who might disagree.br/ We’ll close with these words on a href=”http://www.starnewsonline.com/section/news41″ b Twitter /b /a from New Yorker Lou Brutus, quoted in The New York Times: “I have a message for those who doubt the values, integrity, patriotism or toughness of New York…NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!” Fiorina, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Sen. None of these three are great candidates.
That’s nice. But what’s clear is that Haley, who is widely considered a likely vice-presidential candidate, had decided that she didn’t need a Trump alliance and was choosing the “establishment lane” of the party, or, as some prefer, the “rational lane”.
His remarks demand comment only because he is running for the presidency in a campaign built heavily on exploiting the fears and resentments of an angry Republican base.
The survey also showed a dramatic shift in Trump’s direction on another important measure.
“He’s eligible” McCarthy said Friday at a GOP retreat. Now it’s 65 percent.
Trump, who needs a victory in Iowa to set a winning tone to his campaign, kept up his attempt to undermine Cruz’s attempt to portray himself as an outsider to the political establishment.
Cruz was grilled by Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace over his votes on defense funding and crop insurance, as well as his comments on carpet-bombing ISIS and his bashing of NY values.
“The merits of this issue are straightforward and simple: under the constitution, under fed law the child of a USA citizen born overseas is a natural born citizen”. Really, I do. I see that he’s a leading candidate for the GOP nomination (second only to Cruz in Iowa, according to the latest poll), but I am anxious about him.
Breitbart News asked Santorum if he believes Trump is honest on his conservative principles following the recent criticism by Cruz about Trump’s “New York values” shared in a 1999 interview between Trump and Tim Russert.
“He read enough that we could have a conversation”, Santorum said. “I mean, Hey, I’ve lived in New York City and Manhattan all my life”. “I’ll tell you and the rest of the country, people understand exactly what that is”. His conflicts were far less fierce, for example, than those between Cruz and Rubio.
Then, it got personal, when Bush supporters put together an advert mocking Mr Rubio’s black, heeled leather boots. For evidence, just look at how Governor Haley attacked her own party’s presidential front runner in the official Republican Party response to Barack Obama’s State of the Union address.
“Since early in the campaign internal polling numbers showed he was doing well in the likeability and trust categories”, said Patrick Murray, who heads the Monmouth University Polling Institute.

But even the emotional disputes between the two illustrated the difficulties of breaking out of the pack.
