While no one in SC or North Carolina won the record-setting Powerball Jackpot Wednesday, lesser-winning tickets were sold in each state.

The Tennessee Lottery held a news conference on Friday recognizing the couple from Munford who purchased the winning Powerball ticket.

Tennessee Lottery executive Rebecca Hargrove said the couple would get a “small check today for a few million”, and collect the full lump sum in about 10 business days.

The other two winning tickets were sold in Chino Hills, California, and Melbourne Beach, Florida.

The Robinsons said their first order of business is to pay off their daughter’s student loans, then the mortgage on their house and other bills. While on air, Lisa Robinson called a co-worker to say she wouldn’t be coming to work that morning.

Mr. Robinson works at a maintenance distribution center and his wife in a dermatologist’s office.

The couple bought four tickets at Naifeh’s Food Mart, a grocery store one block from their home at 6:56 p.m. on Wednesday night. When he got home, he gave the tickets to his wife and went to lie down.

She stayed up to watch the Wednesday night drawing, carefully writing down the numbers.

Mr Townsend said: “The American public wants to hear from them… they want to let the public know that they’re the winners”.

Roy said they have lived next to the Robinson’s for almost 20 years.

Both John, 58, and Lisa Robinson confirmed that they plan on continuing to work at their jobs.

Mrs Robinson said she would return to work on Monday and the family hopes not to leave their home in Munford, Tennessee.

“Now I’ll be nervous because everybody knows”, Mr Robinson said. I’d suggest you get financial advice from someone you knew before you won.

John has kept the ticket on him since then, and they plan to present the ticket to Tennessee lottery officials on Friday after appearing on Today, the family said. Friends and neighbors say the Robinsons are a hard-working, responsible family with the ability to humbly deal with their new fortune. “I was running down the hallway screaming and crying”, she said.

Sixteen people who bought tickets in SC won prizes of $50,000. The real winning tickets were sold in California, Tennessee, and Florida, but the winners have not come forward yet, AP reports.
