Sterling set for Man City debut

Manchester City’s newest signing Raheem Sterling has admitted that the manner of his exit from Liverpool has left something of a sour taste.

Sterling is eager to begin a new chapter of his career at the Etihad after City succeeded in signing him at the third attempt, making him the most expensive English player of all time.

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes that Jordon Ibe has “tons of ability” and tips him to play an important role for the Reds, as per the Daily Mail.

We’d like to insert a joke here about getting used to life on the bench, but we’re not bitter like that.

“I think Sterling worked with Liverpool for some days so I think he will have a few minutes against Roma”, the City boss said. His deal is worth up to £49 million, per BBC Sport, and will see the forward come under immediate pressure to perform.

“And trust me, every time he trained, the senior players would be looking at each other thinking ‘who is this kid?!’ He was exceptional”.

“That day I went home, and I told the doc I was ill”.

“I hope that the pitch will be at least in normal conditions”.

“I didn’t really want to add more fuel to the fire so I didn’t comment on it”.

‘He told me what a good thing it was to have me at the football club.

He elaborated, saying that he wanted to make the move “from the first moment” he was made aware of City’s interest, “purely because of the direction” in which he foresees the club to be heading. Much of it could have been done behind closed doors rather than his very public revelations and that ill-advised infamous BBC interview while the season was going on. In saying that, you also wonder why his relationship with the club broke down so badly? Or is that too simplistic?

The youngster also managed a total of 12 Premier League appearances, enough to impress manager Brendan Rodgers, who feels that the wideman is a player with huge potential.
