Sony sending out invites for its MWC 2016 press conference
These are the 6 devices from Sony which were supposed to jump from Android 5.0 to Marshmallow – Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia C4, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua, and Xperia M5. The new firmware with build numbers 27.2.A.0.155 and 27.2.B.0.155 have been released to Xperia C4 and its dual version, respectively. Sony did confirm previously that it’s going to update several handsets directly to Marshmallow so one can imagine the joy Xperia C4 and C5 Ultra users might have felt when they received an update notification.

There are other minor changes that you may not notice, but still, Android 5.1 should be better than Android 5.0. Either way, you can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings About phone Software update. Since the over-the-air update is being carried out in stages, it may take a few weeks to reach all the devices. Though the Japanese manufacturer confirmed late past year that some of its handsets would skip Android 5.1 Lollipop and go directly to Marshmallow, something changed along the way. However, before downloading the upgrade, users are advised to make sure their phone has at least 50% battery left and that it’s connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. The update is also available for the dual-SIM versions of the smartphones.

Android v5. 1 Lollipop comes with enhancements to Android Run Time (ART), so applications will load faster. Sony Mobile did not say why the company chose to come out with this version for the United States.
