Three US prisoners freed by Iran on their way to Germany

A fourth freed USA citizen, Nosratollah Khosravi-Roodsari, apparently was not on the Swiss flight that arrived in Geneva, though it was not immediately clear why.

Earlier, an unnamed US official said in an email from the State Department that the USA had also agreed to drop efforts to seek the extradition of 14 Iranians on unspecified charges.

They were released in exchange for clemency for seven Iranians indicted or imprisoned in the United States for sanctions violations, the officials confirmed. He said the deal was a “very risky precedent”.
