DAYS after her husband and manager died of cancer, Canadian singer Celine Dion has lost a brother also to cancer, a family spokesman said Saturday. “We are remembering a gentle and reserved man of many talents”, the Dion family offered in a statement.
Celine Dion’s husband René Angelil will have his funeral at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, where he and Dion were married 21 years ago. His funeral will be held St-Simon-et-Jude in Charlemagne Quebec. He died in Las Vegas where Celine has been headlining at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Dion took two career breaks to look after her husband when he was diagnosed with throat cancer, the first in 2000. Angelil was Celine Dion’s mentor and manager for decades.
TMZ reports that Daniel was battling brain, tongue and throat cancer before passing away.

Celine’s sister Claudette spoke to the Journal of Montreal late last week, revealing her brother was fighting a similar type of cancer as Rene.
