Lori Greenberg, his mother, said Monday he had no health problems and she was told by police who investigated Sunday night that there was no evidence of foul play, injuries or drugs.
Josh Greenberg, cofounder of the controversial and recently shuttered music streaming service Grooveshark, was found dead in his Florida home on Sunday. Rather, she said, “He was excited about potential new things that he was going to start”. “It looked like he was sleeping”, she said. In a tweet Monday, the Gainesville Police Dept. said there was “no evidence of foul play or suicide” in his death.
Greenburg founded Grooveshark alongside Sam Tarantino in 2006 while the two were students at the University of Florida.
An autopsy is being performed today, and will pretty quickly reveal if there was anything wrong with Greenberg’s heart or brain, but toxicology results won’t be in for another couple of months.
This news comes just months after Grooveshark was shut down following a settlement in legal battles against record industry giants UMG, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group.
In addition to his mother, Greenberg is survived by his younger brother, Jacob, and grandparents, Jerry and Sandy Greenberg.

A memorial service for Josh Greenberg will be held in Gainseville, according to the report.
